( English Below) Van mijn vader kreeg ik de kracht om inspirerende creaties te maken. Mijn moeder schonk me de liefde voor planten en bomen. Ongeveer tien jaar geleden maakte ik mijn eerste chacapa (heilige boomratel) om te gebruiken bij ceremonieel en healingswerk. Sindsdien zijn de chacapa’s een rode draad doorheen mijn wandel als troubadour en (sound)healer.
Alle chacapa’s zijn vervaardigd met volledige focus, toegewijde aandacht en versierd in de kracht van eenvoud. Ik neem uitgebreid de tijd om te dwalen in de bossen en de grote leermeesters daar te ontmoeten. Sommige bomen roepen en vertellen over hun spirit en schenken het materiaal ter oogst voor een ratel. Getrouw en devoot volg ik hun aanwijzingen en leiding. Wat wil er geoogst? Hoe en wanneer is een momentum om dat te doen? Hoe willen de ratels drogen en ingebonden worden? Welk verhaal dient er verteld te worden? De bomen zijn de meesters die het onthullen. Elke chacapa heeft zijn eigen unieke verhaal en energie. Ik vertolk via deze weg het unieke wezen van elke boom die zijn bladeren schonk. Tijdens healing en klankconcerten ben ik vertolker van hun verhaal. Dit lied mogen brengen is een eerbetoon aan en een uiting van diepe dankbaarheid voor deze prachtige wezens.
Geleidelijk aan merkte ik welke ratels niet gecreëerd zijn voor mijn hand maar wachten op een nieuwe speler en eigenaar. Ben je geprikkeld door de roep van de ratel? Wil je een eigen chacapa laten maken of creaties ontmoeten en invoelen met een dans of een lied erbij?

My father gifted me the ability to make inspiring creations. My mother passed me a love for plants and trees. About ten years ago I made my first chacapa (sacred tree rattle) for use in ceremonial and healing work. Since then, the chacapas have been a common thread throughout my walk as a troubadour.
All chacapas are crafted with complete focus, dedicated attention and decorated in the power of simplicity. I take plenty of time to wander in the woods and meet the great teachers there. Some trees call out and talk about their spirit and donate the material to be harvested for a rattle. I faithfully and devoutly follow their instructions and guidance. What wants to be harvested? How and when is there momentum to do that? How do the ratchets want to dry and be bound? What story needs to be told? The trees are the masters who reveal it.
Each chacapa has its own unique story and energy. In this way I express the unique essence of each tree that gave its leaves. During healing and sound concerts I interpret their story. Being able to perform this song is a tribute to and an expression of deep gratitude for these beautiful creatures.
